Mandarin Speaking Finance Manager

Overview

In this role you will oversee finance operations for the UK entity and act as the bridge between Europe and headquarters in China. You will drive compliant financial reporting, tax, treasury, and internal controls while supporting cross-border funding and group reporting. This is a fast-paced, international environment that values bilingual communication and stakeholder collaboration. You will contribute to European expansion and process optimization, shaping financial strategy for growth with a hands-on, ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-set accounting and financial reporting for the UK entity
• Prepare statutory and group financial statements in line with UK standards
• Manage AP, AR, GL, expense control, reconciliations, and cash flow reporting
• Handle VAT, Corporation Tax and other UK tax filings, ensuring HMRC compliance
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and regulators
• Support transfer pricing management and cross-border related-party transactions
• Manage treasury activities including cash flow planning, FX settlement, and cross-border transfers
• Build and maintain relationships with local banks and support financing discussions
• Monitor financial risk, FX exposure, and internal controls
• Establish and improve internal control procedures and reporting processes
• Support group internal and external audits and audit remediation
• Prepare bilingual financial reports and liaise with headquarters in China
• Contribute to financial process optimization and European expansion projects

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Finance
• ACCA / ACA / CPA / CIMA or equivalent preferred
• Minimum 5 years of finance experience, at least 3 years in the UK
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax rules, and compliance
• Experience in Chinese-funded enterprises, international groups or multinationals preferred
• Familiarity with treasury management, financing activities and cross-border operations
• Strong analytical, reporting and risk management capabilities
• Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese, written and spoken
• Independent with strong ownership and cross-regional coordination skills
