Overview

As Director of Residential & Commercial Real Estate Lending you will lead origination, credit, and execution for UK property loans in the £1–£30m range. You will leverage your market network and credit expertise to craft bespoke lending solutions and steer transactions from term sheet to drawdown. You will shape the fund’s lending strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This is a hands-on opportunity to influence mid-market real estate finance and growth with institutional capital.

Responsibilities

• Source and originate residential and commercial development, bridging, and investment loans across the UK
• Maintain and grow a broker, developer, and introducer network
• Identify underserved market segments and create tailored lending solutions
• Lead credit analysis, financial modelling, and risk assessment for new transactions
• Structure senior, mezzanine, and stretch senior facilities
• Prepare and present investment papers to the credit committee
• Manage full transaction lifecycle from term sheet to drawdown
• Oversee third-party due diligence (valuations, legal, QS, etc.)
• Monitor loan performance and manage borrower relationships
• Contribute to lending strategy and deployment targets
• Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to inform pricing and risk appetite
• Support development of new lending products and underwriting frameworks

Key requirements

• 8-12+ years in real estate lending, structured finance, or private credit investing
• Proven track record of originating and executing £1m–£30m residential and/or commercial loans
• Strong understanding of UK planning, development, and property markets
