Payroll Officer

Overview

In this role you will own end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of hospitality brands, ensuring accuracy and timely payments. You will work closely with HR and Operations to deliver reliable payroll data that feeds management accounts and forecasts. You’ll be the primary payroll contact across sites, handling complex, high-volume data in a fast-paced environment. You will help keep payroll compliant with UK regulations and support statutory reporting, bringing precision and trust to every payroll cycle.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll end-to-end for employees across assigned brands
• Ensure payroll changes (salaries, tronc, deductions) are accurate and on time
• Prepare payroll inputs, including tronc calculations and supporting schedules
• Deliver payroll in line with agreed timelines and ensure accurate payments
• Prepare and maintain tronc reports and supporting schedules
• Maintain payroll-related trackers (staff advances and adjustments)
• Liaise with HR and Operations to ensure inputs are complete and accurate
• Ensure payroll complies with UK legislation (PAYE, NI, auto-enrolment, statutory payments)
• Stay updated with payroll/tax regulations and apply changes
• Support statutory reporting (P11Ds, HMRC queries) and surveys
• Assist with implementation of tronc legislation and maintain documentation
• Apply NMW/NLW updates and other regulatory changes

Key requirements

• 5-7 years’ experience in end-to-end payroll processing
• Proven experience using TRONC
• Proven experience running multi-site payrolls
• Hospitality payroll experience is an attractive bonus
