Senior Medical Writer

Overview

As a Senior Medical Writer you will lead the development and oversight of scientific education materials for global pharma and medical device accounts. You collaborate with cross‑functional teams, participate in client meetings, and guide junior staff while staying current on regulatory and documentation practices. The role blends scientific strategy with hands‑on content creation to shape impactful medical communications. Responsibilities

• Develop and refine scientific/medical education materials (slide decks, KOL presentations, Ad Board content)
• Review documents with senior support to ensure industry and client requirements are met
• Understand client products, brand strategy, and therapeutic landscape; engage in client meetings and note-taking
• Stay current with trends, regulations, and documentation practices to support internal and client work
• Maintain and update project reference packs, templates, and style guides
• For senior role: lead discussions on scientific content with clients and external experts; contribute to scientific strategy; mentor junior writers

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or PhD in biology- or medicine-related discipline
• 5+ years experience in medical communications or related agency environment
• Business professional / fluent English speaker
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willing to learn new software
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks
