EMEA Rates Trader

Overview

In this role you will help translate investment decisions into effective market execution within a global institutional trading function. You will work with portfolio managers, analysts and traders across regions to implement decisions and share insights that enhance client outcomes. The role blends broad instrument coverage with strong execution discipline and collaboration across desks and venues. Responsibilities

• Execute portfolio decisions across EMEA Rates, Global FX and Money Markets instruments
• Monitor market conditions, central bank activity and economic releases to support execution discussions
• Maintain strong relationships with banks, brokers, liquidity providers and venues for liquidity access
• Provide timely market colour, trade ideas, liquidity assessments and implementation advice
• Contribute to pre- and post-trade analysis on liquidity, market impact and certainty of completion
• Advise on trends and opportunities to improve execution outcomes
• Collaborate with trading colleagues to evaluate execution options across electronic, algorithmic, RFQ and voice channels
• Drive improvements to systems, analytics, automation and controls
• Support securities lending opportunities where appropriate
• Provide cross-desk coverage during high activity or colleague absence
• Collaborate with risk, compliance, operations and technology to ensure controlled trading processes
• Partner with desks to deliver right outcomes for clients

Key requirements

• 5-7+ years trading experience in asset management, hedge funds, banks or treasury
• Strong understanding of pricing, liquidity, market microstructure, derivatives, and electronic/voice trading
• Disciplined execution quality and controls
• Ability to derive conclusions from market data and communicate them to the team
• Experience using order and execution management systems
• Strong communication and relationships skills with the confidence to challenge constructively
