Supply Chain Manager

Overview

In this role you will shape a robust UK energy infrastructure supply chain to support a growing project portfolio. You will map supplier networks, onboard and manage subcontractors, and forge strategic partnerships to ensure capability, capacity, and competitive pricing. You’ll monitor market conditions and supplier performance to reduce risk and drive delivery. This position offers impact through shaping procurement strategy and enabling controlled self-delivery growth.

Responsibilities

• Assess and map current supplier networks to identify capabilities in the energy sector
• Develop understanding of the UK energy infrastructure supply chain
• Identify gaps in capability, capacity, geography and tech; source new suppliers as needed
• Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified subcontractors
• Manage supplier onboarding with compliance to safety, quality, and technical standards
• Develop strategic supplier partnerships and strengthen existing relationships
• Negotiate commercial terms and leverage purchasing power for competitive pricing
• Support bid/tender submissions with supply chain intelligence, quotations, and delivery strategies
• Implement supplier performance management covering safety, quality, delivery, and commercial performance
• Monitor market conditions, supplier availability, labour constraints, pricing trends and supply risks
• Support transition towards increased self-delivery through strategic supply chain planning

Key requirements

• Strong knowledge of the UK construction, utilities, infrastructure or energy supply chain
• Experience sourcing, onboarding, negotiating with and managing subcontractors
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to secure competitive market pricing
• Experience building strategic supplier relationships and managing supplier performance
• Understanding of supplier assurance, compliance, capability assessment and governance processes
• Experience operating within a fast-paced growth environment
