Team Leader - Traffic Orders

Overview

In this role you will lead the Traffic Orders team within the Healthy Streets and Parking Team to ensure statutory compliance and delivery of permanent and temporary traffic regulation orders. You will manage the team's workload, guide drafting decisions, and mentor colleagues while driving service improvements such as the Digital Map Based Traffic Order project. You will apply knowledge of the Road Traffic Regulation Act and related highways legislation to secure legally sound orders and notices. Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the traffic order making team
• Ensure statutory compliance for permanent and temporary traffic orders
• Prepare and implement traffic regulation orders and notices
• Oversee programme delivery and order legality
• Mentor team members and foster capability
• Lead service improvements including the Digital Map Based Traffic Order project
• Improve public information and process efficiencies

Key requirements

• Knowledge of The Road Traffic Regulation Act and highways legislation
• Understanding of traffic and parking design standards
• Practical experience in traffic order making
• Ability to advise on legal matters related to drafting and completing orders
• Ability to deliver compliant orders without legal challenge
