General Merchandise Manager

Overview

As General Merchandise Manager you drive exceptional customer experiences by leading non-food product presentation and daily operations from shop floor to warehouse. You coach and manage a team, handle performance and employee relations, and ensure accurate scheduling and pay. You may take overall store leadership when needed to deliver for customers. You’ll work in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment and shape store performance through people and process improvements. Responsibilities

• Manage non-food product presentation and availability to delight customers
• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations from shop floor to warehouse

• Oversee scheduling and payroll accuracy
• Provide direction and support to colleagues to deliver for customers, potentially running the store in absence of senior management

Key requirements

• Track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and coaching others to raise performance
• Experience leading teams in dynamic, customer-facing environments with high performance
• Leadership experience in high-volume, fast-paced operations (retail, food service, or hospitality)
• Proven success delivering against KPIs (sales, stock availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement)
• Experience managing complex people matters (performance, absence, employee relations)
