Senior Operations Lead - Liveable Places

Overview

In this role, you drive operational leadership for WSP’s Liveable Places in London, aligning delivery with client and commercial goals. You’ll steward workloads, resources, and financial performance to achieve efficient, high-quality project outcomes. You will shape a strong, collaborative culture across multidisciplinary teams while embedding best practices and a focus on safety and wellbeing. This position offers impact at scale within a global firm, with a clear path to shaping Liveable Places’ operational excellence. You will work closely with regional leadership to sustain growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee workload, utilisation, and resource planning with team leads
• Promote cross-team collaboration to enable multi-disciplinary resourcing
• Interface with GCC and UK/India to grow workload and competitiveness
• Monitor recruitment to meet project and budget targets
• Integrate UK-wide best practices (e.g., BMS) and drive operational improvements
• Own annual budget delivery (revenue, margin, EBITDA, DSO) and financial reporting
• Ensure accurate financial forecasting and governance for Go/No-Go decisions
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Wellbeing and uphold Zero Harm culture
• Provide leadership for cost centres, including training, development, and retention
• Coordinate best practice sharing and drive innovation; promote Future Ready initiatives
• Support succession planning and talent management in partnership with HR
