Associate Director, Estimating - Infrastructure

Overview

In this role you will lead and shape the production of accurate cost estimates and plans for infrastructure projects. You will work with Directors to bid for new work and mentor a staff team, aligning estimating practices with department goals. You’ll interface with clients and other consultants to support decision making across major programmes. This opportunity sits within a growth-focused UK Estimating team that serves both UK and international clients. You’ll contribute to cross-selling opportunities and promote best-practice in estimation.

Responsibilities

• Lead or manage the production of estimates and cost plans for projects
• Promote estimating best practice and contribute to departmental objectives
• Stay updated on developments in the estimating technical area
• Collaborate with Directors on bids for new work
• Provide direction to staff on assigned tasks
• Act as a role model for less experienced staff
• Interface with clients and other consultants across project stages
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and new clients
• Identify cross-selling opportunities
• Staff management where appropriate
• Contribute to knowledge management

Key requirements

• Proven estimating management experience
• Qualified to a high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience
• Experience with estimating software packages
• Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB / A Cost E
