Overview

In this role you join a Top 100 firm’s Bristol employment team to handle a high-quality caseload, predominantly contentious early in your career with structured supervision. You will work across sectors for major employers, balancing litigation with advisory work as you develop. The team leverages a firm-wide AI platform and dedicated AI leads, emphasizing technology to support development rather than replace it. This is an opportunity to gain breadth across disputes, restructures, and advisory projects while contributing to a growing employment practice.

Responsibilities

• Represent respondent employers in tribunal claims (contentious work)
• Advise on disciplinaries, grievances, restructurings and redundancies
• Draft documents including settlement agreements, consultancy agreements and staff handbooks
• Provide employment support on corporate transactions
• Collaborate with partners and seniors across offices with structured supervision
• Engage with AI tools to enhance practice and learning

Key requirements

• Newly qualified solicitor with a clear interest in employment law
• Willingness to pivot from pure litigation into advisory work over time
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical, communication, and organisational skills
• Interest in business development and staying updated on employment law changes
