Overview

As a Senior Structural BIM Designer at Arup, you will deliver structural BIM models and drawings, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to translate designs into buildable details. You will lead collaborative BIM delivery, participate in coordination workshops, and support project stakeholders to coordinate and refine models. You’ll also mentor junior colleagues and help implement BIM standards and information governance to drive high-quality outcomes on complex projects.

Responsibilities

Produce structural BIM models and drawings to communicate designs
Act as point of contact for collaborative BIM delivery and attend coordination workshops
Coordinate designs with project stakeholders and across teams
Provide technical support to the wider team and mentor early-career colleagues
Support BIM Execution Plans, information requirements and project delivery standards
Leverage digital tools, automation and innovation to improve outcomes
Advise on reinforced concrete detailing where applicable
Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects spanning science, industrial, transport, education and sports facilities

Key requirements

Strong background in structural delivery of complex projects across design stages
In-depth knowledge of Autodesk Revit (model setup, modelling and drawing production)
Strong communication skills and ability to report to structural engineering leads
Professional qualification (e.g., IStructE or ICE EngTech) or higher (pursuing acceptable)
Curiosity to innovate with new technologies for structural design delivery
Experience with Autodesk Forma is an advantage
Experience with fabrication-level reinforced concrete detailing is advantageous
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D may be advantageous
