Underwriter

Overview

As a Motor Underwriter, you support the Underwriters and Underwriting Director by handling referrals, queries, and administration to keep insurer and product files organized. You will work with the sales team on in-house referrals and help generate scheme performance data using company systems. You’ll implement processes, manage competing priorities, and produce high-quality information under tight deadlines. Your keen attention to detail and niche knowledge in motor insurance help drive accurate underwriting decisions. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to impact underwriting performance within a dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Respond to email referrals and manage internal/external queries, routing to insurers as needed
• Maintain accurate administration and filing for insurer and product files
• Handle in-house referrals from the sales team
• Assist in generating scheme performance data using company systems
• Implement and enforce processes and procedures to improve efficiency
• Manage priorities effectively to meet tight deadlines
• Produce consistently high-quality information with strong attention to detail

Key requirements
