Global Cat Manager - HR Systems & People Services

Overview

In this role you will lead global procurement and supplier management for HR and People Services, overseeing a multi-regional spend of over £120m. You’ll shape category strategies, drive cost savings, and foster supplier partnerships that enable workforce transformation. Collaborating with senior HR, Finance, and executives, you will steer risk, compliance, and innovation across HR services. This is a strategic procurement leadership role with a clear impact on business growth and workforce capability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global category strategies aligned with organisational objectives and workforce priorities
• Create multi-year category roadmaps covering sourcing, supplier consolidation, risk mitigation and value creation
• Deliver sustainable cost savings, cost avoidance and process efficiencies across HR and People Services
• Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities and emerging technologies for innovation opportunities
• Lead complex global sourcing events, RFPs and supplier selections
• Negotiate high-value contracts with global and regional providers and optimise commercial models
• Ensure contractual arrangements address risk, compliance, data privacy and performance
• Establish executive-level supplier relationships and governance with KPIs and scorecards
• Act as trusted procurement advisor to HR, COEs, Finance, Legal and executives
• Support major transformation programmes and workforce strategies through procurement leadership
• Ensure procurement activity complies with governance and data protection requirements
• Oversee sub-categories including RPO, executive search, contingent labour, L&D, payroll, benefits, relocation, OH & wellbeing, HR tech, and more
• Advise on ESG, diversity and sustainability objectives across the supply base

Key requirements

• Extensive procurement/category management experience in HR, Professional Services or Indirect procurement
• Experience managing global spend portfolios exceeding £100m annually
• Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and commercial value
• Strong strategic sourcing and complex supplier negotiation experience
• Experience influencing senior executives (CHRO, CFO, leadership teams)
• Strong supplier relationship and contract management capabilities
• Excellent analytical, financial and commercial acumen
