Strategic Procurement Specialist – Electronics

Overview

In this role you will lead and shape a global electronics sourcing strategy, driving transformation of a fragmented regional model into a coordinated, scalable procurement function. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity while building strategic supplier relationships. The role offers impact across electronics components, PCBAs, EMS providers, and box-build solutions, with a focus on long-term value and manufacturing excellence. This is a high-visibility position that influences major strategic decisions and supplier partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for electronic components, PCBAs, EMS providers, and box-build manufacturing
• Create multi-year category roadmaps aligned with growth and manufacturing objectives
• Consolidate supplier spend and leverage global purchasing power
• Standardise sourcing methodologies, supplier selection criteria, and commercial agreements
• Balance cost, quality, innovation, service, and risk within category strategies
• Lead electronics manufacturing strategy transformation and shift to box-build solutions where beneficial
• Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities and manufacturing transfers
• Collaborate with engineering to improve design-for-manufacture and supply chain efficiency
• Rationalise and standardise supplier base
• Lead global sourcing activities, RFQs, supplier selection, and negotiations
• Negotiate framework agreements, contracts, and SLAs
• Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, and value engineering
• Conduct total cost of ownership analyses and identify sourcing alternatives
• Collaborate with Finance to validate savings and value delivery
• Develop dual-source and regional sourcing strategies
• Identify and mitigate geopolitical, regulatory, operational, and supplier risks
• Support business continuity planning and contingency strategies
• Strengthen supply chain resilience through proactive risk management
• Build and manage a network of EMS and box-build partners
• Identify, assess, negotiate, and onboard new manufacturing partners globally
• Ensure suppliers meet quality, capacity, geographic, and operational requirements
• Develop supplier scorecards, performance reviews, and continuous improvement programmes
• Lead executive-level supplier relationship management and escalation processes
• Lead global sourcing activities, RFQs, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations

Key requirements

• Significant experience in Strategic Procurement, Category/Commodity Management, or Supply Chain Strategy
• Background in electronics manufacturing, EMS, PCBA, contract manufacturing, or industrial technology
• Strong understanding of electronic components, PCBAs, manufacturing processes, and box-build assembly
• Proven experience leading international sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations
• Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and strategic thinking
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior leadership level
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment
