Cost Manager - Real Estate

Overview

In this role you drive end-to-end cost management for commissions on major projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet client objectives. You will apply our bespoke digital tools to deliver accurate cost insights, support procurement and value engineering, and manage relationships with clients and project stakeholders. You’ll help advance the NewLeaf strategy and contribute to sustainable, cost-efficient project delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

• Manage commissions across feasibility, tendering, contract administration and cost control
• Produce final cost plans and monthly post-contract cost reports using The Hive Cost Control App
• Lead cost management activities on projects and supervise junior team members when appropriate
• Interface with client, Project Manager and consultants throughout project stages
• Identify and pursue opportunities to develop new business with existing clients
• Support marketing, bid documentation, and professional networking to grow the cost management practice
• Contribute to process improvement and knowledge management within the team
• Utilise bespoke digital cost management tools (The Hive suite, CostX, Market Rates App, eTender Platform) and supporting systems
• Implement Embodied Carbon Calculator for carbon footprint reporting
• Support the execution of NewLeaf strategy and internal resourcing decisions
• Maintain internal accounting, job costing and cost resourcing
• Mentor junior staff and uphold quality standards in service delivery

Key requirements

• Chartered Status (MRICS or equivalent)
• Autonomy and initiative with ability to meet tight deadlines

• Ability to work under pressure and delegate for junior development
• Experience in cost management and project delivery in a professional services context
