Senior Product Compliance Manager - AML

Overview

In this role you will advance Wise’s AML program within the Global FinCrime PC&R team, partnering with product and compliance to design scalable, compliant controls for new features. You will balance regulatory requirements with a great customer experience, enabling faster deployment of compliant MVPs. You will use data to measure control effectiveness and drive improvements across products and operations. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role focused on reducing financial crime risk while enabling growth and smoother customer journeys.

Responsibilities

• Own AML control design and risk detection strategy within PC&R
• Collaborate with AML product teams to translate global regulations into in-house AML capabilities
• Identify enhancements to improve risk detection quality, growth, and operational efficiency
• Use data to define control effectiveness and support continuous testing/assurance
• Assist Product and Engineering to implement and prioritise control improvements for faster deployment and smarter automation
• Lead end-to-end project planning for control improvements arising from audits, regulatory feedback, incidents, or third parties
• Conduct periodic reviews to ensure controls stay compliant and effective amid regulatory changes
• Contribute to annual financial crime risk assessment mapping and coverage across typologies and regions

Key requirements

• 7+ years in AML/financial crime with focus on implementing/enhancing AML controls (transaction monitoring, detection, typology-based coverage, alerting/decisioning)
• CAMS, ICA or equivalent certification desirable
• Experience working with product and engineering teams to build AML/financial crime controls in-house
• Experience automating financial crime controls to reduce manual effort while preserving detection quality
• Strong data analytics skills to define what good looks like and translate insights into control changes
• Clear communication, project coordination and management skills
• Strategic thinking with a willingness to challenge teams and sustain compliance
