Credit Analyst

Overview

In this permanent London role you will assess credit proposals across Corporate, Commercial Real Estate and Financial Institutions to support prudent lending. You will manage FI and country credit limits, conduct financial analysis, and generate portfolio reports to monitor risk and performance. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure robust credit strategies and timely approvals, contributing to the bank’s risk management and client coverage. The position offers exposure to diverse markets and macroeconomic developments, within a collaborative banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and vet credit applications with detailed financial assessment and recommendations
• Manage Financial Institution (FI) credit limits, reviews, and bank ratings
• Oversee Global Country Limits, reviews, monitoring and country ratings
• Prepare and analyse portfolio MIS/credit reports and investigate variances
• Analyse watchlist accounts ensuring approvals and appropriate account strategies
• Provide other credit reports and departmental support as required

Key requirements

• Financial degree or related discipline
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in a financial institution
• Strong credit and financial analysis skills
• Excellent Excel, plus strong Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills
• Financial modelling is desirable
• Good knowledge of banking/securities products and cross-border risk
• Awareness of financial markets, industries and macroeconomic/political developments
