Finance Manager

Overview

In this Finance Manager role, you will lead a portfolio of outsourced finance work for a Cardiff-based professional services firm. You will supervise a small team delivering management accounts, statutory statements and day-to-day finance support, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and value for clients. You’ll own client relationships, oversee financial performance and drive improvements across processes and technology. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on client service and business growth within a growing outsourcing team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of moderately complex clients with minimal supervision
• Oversee a small team delivering outsourced finance functions across 30–40 clients
• Ensure timely and accurate production of management accounts and year-end statutory financial statements
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, leading meetings and developing long-term relationships
• Take responsibility for financial performance, including WIP, debt, billing, recoveries and budgets
• Manage and resolve day-to-day client queries and provide proactive financial support
• Mentor, coach and support junior team members, contributing to their development
• Work with audit and corporate tax teams to provide a joined-up service to clients
• Identify opportunities for business development, including leads, cross-selling and proposals
• Contribute to process improvements and the introduction of technology and more efficient ways of working
• Potentially take responsibility for training and development of one or more trainees or team members

Key requirements

• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualification, or AAT qualified with relevant experience
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple client deadlines
