Senior Manager, Credit Risk Originations Strategy

Overview

In this role you will lead the New Business Originations strategy for credit risk, balancing growth with prudent risk management. You work closely with cross‑functional teams to translate data insights into actionable strategy changes and governance. You will develop and coach a small team of analysts, delivering clear recommendations on credit limits, rules, and offers. Responsibilities

• Optimize acquisition credit risk strategies to balance risk and profitability within risk appetite
• Lead strategy changes from analysis through governance, implementation, validation and monitoring
• Manage and develop a small team of analysts, ensuring high-quality analytics
• Use SQL and Python to manipulate and analyse data
• Promote a test-and-learn approach to improve outcomes
• Provide data-driven insights for decision strategies on new customers (limits, rules, offers)
• Analyze origination vintage performance to ensure sustainable lending
• Collaborate with Tech, DataOps, Commercial Finance, Customer Service and Compliance for aligned delivery
• Maintain governance and controls with documentation, testing, monitoring and escalation of issues

Key requirements

• A degree in a quantitative field
• 5+ years in an analytical role (ideally unsecured credit risk/credit cards)
• Extensive experience using SQL to extract/manipulate data; Python is a plus
• Strong prioritization and time management
• Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels and manage expectations
• Experience communicating complex insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience in managing analysts
