Overview

In this role you join the 24/7 Maintenance team at Dunbar Cement Plant to maintain electrical and process-control equipment across a large-scale cement operation. You will respond to breakdowns, perform fault finding, and ensure safe, reliable plant operation on day and night shifts. You’ll work across quarry, kiln, milling, packing and utilities areas, supporting reliability and major maintenance. This is a hands-on, safety‑driven role with opportunities to develop technical expertise in instrumentation, PLCs, and SCADA systems within a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

Respond to electrical breakdowns, fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on plant equipment
Prioritize safety and comply with health, safety and environmental standards, electrical isolations, permit systems and safe working practices
Work with instrumentation, PLCs, DCS/SCADA, LV/HV motors, switchgear, MCCs, control gear, AC/DC systems, VFDs, industrial communications and control panels
Carry out systematic electrical fault finding across power, control and process systems in a live production environment
Perform planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections during shifts
Assist operations in identifying and resolving plant reliability and process issues
Support shutdown activities and major maintenance works across the site
Work across a large industrial site including outdoor areas, substations and dusty environments

Key requirements

Familiarity with electrical fault finding and repair in industrial environments
Ability to work across live production areas and on shift patterns
Awareness of health, safety and environmental standards, electrical isolations, permit systems
