Overview

As a placement year student in FTI Consulting’s Forensic Accounting team, you will support investigations and financial analysis across sectors, collaborating with law firms, banks, and regulatory bodies. You’ll perform research, review financial records, and help prepare working papers and client-ready summaries. This role offers hands-on experience on real-world cases and exposure to cross-functional client engagements. You’ll grow through our in-house learning program and potentially international assignments, contributing to fraud prevention and risk mitigation efforts.

Responsibilities

• conduct investigative research into companies and individuals for project work
• perform detailed review and analysis of financial records (general ledger, invoices, bank statements, financial statements)
• record, summarize and explain analysis in working papers
• review entities' internal and external communications to corroborate findings
• summarize findings for team and clients via emails, memoranda, presentations or reports
• attend internal and client meetings and take detailed notes
• assist with research for new opportunities and preparing proposals to win them

Key requirements

• predicted 2:1 or above final degree
• sandwich course completing and due to graduate in 2029
• availability for placement
• good numeracy and analytical skills
• ability to identify key issues and work in a team
