International Enterprise Functions Compliance & Operational Risk, Technology and COO

Overview

In this role you lead the second line oversight of the Technology function for Wells Fargo's international business, ensuring robust regulatory compliance and risk management. You act as a SME on technology-related regulatory requirements and evolving AI risks, partnering with global teams to implement risk programs. You drive proactive risk identification, challenging control effectiveness, and governance across data, information security, and AI topics. You will influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-border risk initiatives to support the corporate and investment banking footprint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee second-line risk management for Technology and related topics (Data Management, Information Security, AI) in international lines of business
• Serve as SME on regulations and operational risks for Technology with emphasis on AI in a global CIB context
• Provide proactive regulatory compliance and risk advisory to Technology functions and business lines
• Lead compliance and operational risk input for cross-functional, high-risk business initiatives and projects
• Drive process improvements in high-risk areas and ensure timely issue escalation and remediation
• Represent IRM in governance forums, provide challenge and credible oversight
• Collaborate with Global and International Compliance and Operational Risk teams on regulatory change management, risk assessments, policy/training, monitoring, reporting
• Coordinate with Legal, Audit, regulators, and business leaders to manage risk topics and decisions
• Allocate and manage resources (people and budget) for Compliance & Operational Risk across technology initiatives
• Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet risk objectives

Key requirements

• Experience in Compliance, Operational Risk, or equivalent in financial services
• University degree preferred; professional qualifications relevant to Compliance/Operational Risk
• Corporate and Investment Banking experience in Compliance, Operational Risk, Legal or Business
• Strong, proven experience in Technology risk domains (resilience, disaster recovery, network security, asset lifecycle)
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO), IAM, threat detection, vulnerability management
• Strong data risk proficiency (data governance, classification, privacy, secure exchange)
• Extensive knowledge of global CIB businesses and regulatory environment
• Ability to translate complex problems into defined plans and deliver results
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
• Ability to lead and collaborate across global teams and multiple levels of management
• Analytical, pragmatic, and able to challenge senior stakeholders respectfully
