Overview

In this Legal Counsel role, you provide high-level guidance for fintech payments, e-money, and consumer credit, helping to shape product decisions and ensure regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design compliant offerings, assess legal risks, and advise senior leadership on regulatory strategy. The role combines hands-on regulatory work with strategic input to support scalable, user-centric financial services in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities

• Product development support for Payments and Consumer Credit (e.g., BNPL) including regulatory considerations
• Risk assessment and mitigation aligned with risk appetite
• Regulatory compliance across PSD2, AML/KYC, e-money, CCD2
• Stakeholder management and advisory support to senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Key requirements

• Strategic, analytically strong with deep fintech and payments regulatory knowledge
• Qualified lawyer with 5+ years PQE, ideally 8–10 years of experience
• Deep knowledge of financial and consumer credit regulations (PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, CCD2) with fintech/Payments track record
• Technical and commercial awareness with ability to partner with engineering teams
• English fluency; Italian or French a plus
• Experience in both private practice and in-house settings preferred
