As Site Waste Manager, you will lead the Filton waste programme to ensure safe, compliant and cost-effective waste operations. You’ll direct a six-person team, align activities with regulatory duties, and provide timely reporting to senior stakeholders. The role blends hands-on leadership with process improvement to drive environmental performance and operational resilience. Your work supports the site’s sustainability goals and underpins safe, efficient facilities management. Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and manage all waste activities across the Filton site
Lead and develop a six-strong waste operatives team and allocate daily tasks
Maintain compliant training records and ensure competency standards
Oversee waste data submissions, contractor invoices, and cost tracking
Ensure regulatory compliance for waste transfer and consignment notes
Produce monthly waste reports and present to site leadership and stakeholders
Manage relationships with waste contractors and monitor service delivery
Champion health, safety, and environmental standards across operations
Address operational challenges and implement contingency plans
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide expert waste guidance
Key requirements
Experience managing waste operations in industrial, commercial, or facilities management environments
Proven leadership and ability to motivate and develop teams
Comprehensive knowledge of hazardous/non-hazardous waste regulations and waste documentation
