Operations Director

Overview

In this role you will provide strategic leadership across corporate services, commercial development, governance, finance, HR, IT, marketing, and customer engagement. You will drive organisational sustainability, identify income opportunities, and help shape the organisation’s future direction. You will partner with the Chief Executive and Executive Team to realise strategy, lead cross-functional functions, and strengthen governance and stakeholder relationships. This is a high-impact role that combines strategy, change leadership, and external partnerships to support long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chief Executive and Executive Team in delivering organisational strategy and objectives
• Lead development and implementation of the organisation's commercial strategy to maximise income and sustainability
• Provide strategic oversight of finance, HR, governance, IT, customer engagement, marketing and business development
• Ensure robust financial planning, budgeting, audit compliance and performance management
• Support and advise the Board and governance committees on statutory/regulatory requirements
• Lead strategic business development initiatives and identify growth opportunities
• Drive improvement, innovation and performance through leadership and change management
• Oversee health and safety, risk management, data protection and corporate compliance
• Act as ambassador to stakeholders and external organisations
• Lead and develop senior management teams and foster a high-performing culture

Key requirements

• Significant executive-level leadership experience in a large organisation (ESSENTIAL)
• Proven success in developing and delivering organisational strategy, business plans and budgets, and identifying income generation opportunities
• Experience managing multiple corporate functions (finance, HR, governance, IT, customer engagement, marketing, business development)
• First-class communication and stakeholder management skills to influence across the business
