Section Leader (Deli Red Nights 3223)

Overview

As Section Leader for Deli Red Nights at Greencore, you will oversee the night-time production activities and lead a shift to achieve on-time output, quality, and safety targets. You’ll walk the floor, manage start-up and handover, and organise staff to meet service levels. You will drive performance improvements and coach the team while collaborating with other functions to align with retailer expectations. This role sits at a busy, high-volume site and offers opportunities to shape night-time manufacturing within a leading convenience foods business.

Responsibilities

Manage and organise activities within the production area to meet service levels
Lead start-up procedures and ensure accurate labour balance on shift
Conduct Return to Work interviews, attend daily reviews and team briefings
Challenge area performance (quality, throughput, crew size) and audit technical paperwork
Document and handover for the incoming shift; maintain clean, safe packing areas
Review productivity and NME losses to identify improvement opportunities
Identify training and performance management needs and deliver accordingly
Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards and coordinate with other functions

Key requirements

Experience in a production or section management role within the food manufacturing industry
Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement
Understanding of retailer expectations and how to meet them
Strong leadership and ability to motivate and engage a factory team
Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment
