Senior Ecologist

In this Senior Ecologist role, you will lead ecological surveys and fieldwork across diverse UK projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery. Responsibilities

• Undertake and manage ecological surveys (Phase 1 habitat surveys, protected species assessments)
• Lead fieldwork and reporting for multiple projects, ensuring high standards and on-time delivery
• Liaise with clients, regulators and stakeholders to provide practical ecological advice
• Prepare technical reports (EcIA, HRA, management plans)
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to team knowledge sharing and CPD

Key requirements

• A relevant degree in ecology or a related discipline
• Proven consultancy experience
• Membership of CIEEM (or working towards it)
• Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
• Protected species licences (e.g. bat, great crested newt) are desirable
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
