Employment Lawyer (In-house)

Overview

In this Employment Lawyer role, you will join an in-house legal team to advise on a broad range of employment issues. You will handle both contentious and non-contentious work, including Employment Tribunal matters and policy/draft preparation. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and manage external advisers, applying a pragmatic, risk-based approach. Responsibilities

• Handle Employment Tribunal claims from start to finish
• Advise on disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE and trade union matters
• Draft and review contracts, policies, procedures, and settlement agreements
• Deliver employment law training and build relationships with internal stakeholders
• Manage external legal advisers and provide pragmatic, risk-based advice

Key requirements

• At least 4 years' PQE in employment law
• Strong Employment Tribunal experience
• Excellent drafting and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to communicate practical legal advice to non-legal audiences
• Commercial, solutions-focused approach
• In-house or advising large/complex/unionised organisations would be advantageous but not essential
