Senior Associate - Energy and Sustainability

Overview

In this role you will support energy-focused projects for developers, landlords and operators, navigating heat networks, energy procurement, and regulatory compliance. You will work within the Energy and Sustainability team to shape deals, retrofit programmes, and energy infrastructure projects while building strong client relationships. This position offers exposure to PPA/Heat Supply agreements, EV charging infrastructure, and market developments, with opportunities to influence strategic energy solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver commercial and regulatory outcomes that align with the firm’s energy-transition focus.

Responsibilities

• Advise on procurement, negotiation and management of heat networks (concessions, supply agreements, outsourced services, regulatory compliance)
• Advise on energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage)
• Advise on large-scale retrofit programmes (grant funded, Energy as a Service, subscription models)
• Support regulatory issues relating to electricity and heat networks
• Advise on utility connections including ICP and IDNO
• Advise on Power Purchase Agreements and Heat Supply Agreements
• Advise on EV Chargepoints and related infrastructure
• Participate in marketing initiatives aimed at the energy sector
• Build and maintain effective client relationships

Key requirements

• 4 years' post-qualification experience
• Experience on regulatory issues relating to utilities
• Experience of energy projects and heat networks
• Excellent technical skills
• Strong client focus
• Ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
• Ability to deal with innovative structures and bespoke documents
• Drive and enthusiasm
