Design Manager - Water Sector

Overview

As a Design Manager at Stantec, you will lead multidisciplinary design work on major water projects, shaping concepts through to detailed solutions. Based in Newcastle with hybrid working, you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver best-value outcomes. You’ll influence project delivery across clean water, wastewater, flood risk, and urban drainage, driving innovation and high-quality engineering. This is a growth-focused role with access to a global network of experts and a chance to advance toward chartered status.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary design team to deliver water projects from concept to detailed design
• Coordinate design & build delivery, detailed design, and owners engineer services
• Plan and lead technical delivery, collaborating with clients and internal/external teams
• Ensure best value and service excellence across major programmes
• Engage with a global network of experts to deliver leading-edge designs
• Support leadership development and stakeholder management across projects

Key requirements

• Experienced Engineer with Civils, Mechanical & Electrical, Process or related disciplines
• Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing multiple projects and stakeholders
• Previous experience on major projects is highly desirable
• Chartered status preferred; support available to achieve this
