Quantity Surveyor – Groundworks

Overview

As a Quantity Surveyor for a regional civil contractor, you will manage cost control and commercial aspects across RC frame, structures and groundwork projects in the UK. The role is London-based with intermittent site travel, collaborating with project teams to steward valuations, cost reports, and procurement. You’ll support contract administration, change management, and risk tracking while contributing to cash flow and quarterly forecasts. This is an opportunity to progress toward chartership while shaping financial outcomes on major civil schemes.

Pay / Benefits

• 40k-65k salary + package DOE
• London-based role with travel to project sites

Responsibilities

• Prepare valuations and payment applications
• Prepare cost reports for the client
• Manage procurement schedules for subcontractors and materials
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts
• Contract administration including change management and registers
• Maintain project risk and opportunities schedules
• Procurement for project or sections of works
• Ensure clear understanding of allowances and procedures within procurement
• Financial reporting for project sections
• Prepare cash forecasts and quarterly forecasts

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Progressed from a commercial background
• Experience in the civil sector
• Chartered or working towards Chartership
