In this role you will lead nocturnal yard operations as a Class 1 Shunter, ensuring precise movement of trailers and tug units to maintain a fast, high‑integrity supply chain. You will work closely with the warehouse and fleet teams to optimise loading bays and schedules, while upholding safety and compliance. The position emphasizes practical driving skill, safety leadership, and adaptability to volume fluctuations. Responsibilities

• Safely navigate and manoeuvre trailers and tug units in the yard with high precision
• Log trailer transitions in internal systems; conduct pre-use inspections and uphold Tier 1 compliance
• Coordinate with warehouse operatives to optimise loading bays and departure schedules
• Support inventory management or short-haul runs during peak periods
• Maintain a Safety First culture and ensure adherence to logging and yard protocols

Key requirements

• Class 1 LGV Licence (C + E)
• Current Driver CPC
• Proactive, physically fit and problem-solver
• Comfortable with basic digital logging
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong situational awareness
