Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer in a central-London building services and engineering practice, you will lead civil designs for highways, drainage, and external infrastructure. You’ll take schemes from concept through delivery while managing clients and contractors, and you’ll mentor engineers around you. This role emphasizes delivery, governance, and strong professional judgement within a UK consultancy context. You’ll work on WELL, commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects, shaping outcomes in a challenging, on-site environment.

Responsibilities

• lead civil design for highways, drainage and external infrastructure
• carry schemes from concept to delivery
• manage clients and contractors autonomously
• develop and mentor junior engineers
• ensure design governance and project delivery within sections 278/38/104 where applicable
• collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on WELL, commercial, residential and mixed-use projects

Key requirements

• chartered or close to chartered
• strong UK consultancy experience
• proven project-running judgement
• ability to carry schemes from concept through delivery
• ability to manage clients and contractors without rescue
• experience with highways, drainage and external infrastructure
• familiarity with Section 278/38/104 agreements (where applicable)
