Manager, Financial Services Tax

Overview

In this role you will advise UK and international clients on complex tax issues within Deloitte’s Financial Services Tax group. You’ll support a portfolio of clients, drive tax advisory and compliance services, and help develop junior team members. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver transactions, restructurings, and tax disputes, shaping solutions for leading banks and asset managers. This role offers exposure to high-impact projects, client leadership, and a path to advance in financial services taxation.

Responsibilities

• Advise on complex tax law and provide tax advisory services to clients
• Support M&A transactions and cross-border reorganisations
• Handle tax disputes, controversy, and compliance/reporting tasks
• Audit support and execution of risk management procedures
• Manage a client portfolio and coordinate with UK and international teams
• Develop junior team members and contribute to business development
• Contribute to client events and broader team initiatives

Key requirements

• UK corporate tax and Pillar 2 experience, gained in financial institutions or related professional settings
• Experience in insurance, banking, or investment management sectors (preferred for Managers)
• ACA or CTA qualification or equivalent
• Ability to manage multiple client projects and mentor junior staff
• Strong communication and written skills, client relationship capability
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and commercially driven
