Banking Job - Mandarin Speaking Accountant - M

Overview

In this role you will support finance operations for a banking/finance environment in Central London, with a focus on accurate reporting and regulatory compliance. You will collaborate with Head Office, HMRC, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely financial information and tax coordination. The role offers exposure to accounting systems, cash and asset management, and process improvement within a cross-functional finance team. You will work in a bilingual setting, leveraging Mandarin and English to connect with stakeholders and external advisers. Responsibilities

• Operate core accounting system daily and perform input and operations as required
• Produce regular reports to Head Office and local regulatory authorities
• Coordinate with external tax advisors for tax returns and HMRC/Head Office communications
• Prepare daily management information and assist audit- and taxation-related data collation
• Manage expenses, suspense accounts, cash flow, and financial statistics
• Reconciling Nostro, Vostro, and security custodian accounts
• Support fixed assets management and hedge accounting projects
• Ensure records and data are filed accurately and timely
• Coordinate with IT on digitalisation of financial reporting and system development
• Assist in updating and optimising departmental processes and policies

Key requirements

• Fluent in Mandarin and English
• UK Accounting experience in banking/finance
• ACCA or ACA qualification (or part qualified)
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
