Principal Consultant - Ammonia & Derivatives

Overview

As Principal Consultant, you will lead technically robust, commercially aware ammonia and derivatives projects for clients globally. You will work within KBR Consulting International to shape strategy, feasibility, and FEED studies, while guiding junior staff and ensuring rigorous deliverables. You’ll engage clients as a technical advisor, support business development, and help position KBR for growth in the ammonia sector. This role offers impact across project definitions, risk and value delivery, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration. You will contribute to thought leadership and enable scalable, high‑quality outcomes that align with client needs and KBR’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Principal Engineer on ammonia and derivatives studies and projects (e.g., terminals, storage, loading/unloading systems)
• Provide senior technical oversight for feasibility, concept and Pre‑FEED studies, and due diligence
• Develop high-quality deliverables including reports, models, and decision-support materials
• Engage with clients as a technical advisor on development strategies and investment readiness
• Support business development through proposals, bids, and client presentations
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal methodologies and tools
• Prepare conference papers and client presentations for international events

Key requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
• Extensive experience in ammonia and derivatives, fertiliser, urea, or gas processing projects
• Strong experience in feasibility, concept and Pre‑FEED studies
• Experience with technical due diligence or lender’s engineer roles is desirable
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver high-quality outputs
• Proven client-facing consulting and project delivery capabilities
