Sales Specialist (Chemicals) – Northern UK Territory

Overview

In this field-based role, you manage and grow an assigned Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland territory by building trusted customer relationships and delivering consultative solutions. You will drive sales, manage pipeline, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet targets and deliver value. You engage customers face-to-face and remotely, guiding product selections and ensuring ongoing satisfaction. This role offers the chance to impact life sciences customers across pharma, biotech, and industrial sectors while representing Avantor’s chemical portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Grow and manage a defined territory across Northern England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland
• Build relationships with key decision-makers and lab stakeholders
• Drive revenue and margin growth, meeting targets
• Identify new opportunities and expand existing accounts
• Promote Avantor's chemical portfolio of reagents and laboratory chemicals
• Collaborate with Account Managers, Product Specialists, Technical Teams, and Partners
• Maintain accurate CRM records, activity, and pipeline
• Develop account plans and forecast territory performance
• Conduct regular customer visits, presentations, and product discussions

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years in a B2B sales role
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growth
• Experience managing complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
• Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and cover a large geographic territory
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively
