Overview

As a Commercial Banking technology delivery consultant, you will drive proposition definition and successful tech implementations for banking clients. You’ll work with product owners, analysts, and delivery teams to shape requirements and designs, guiding the end-to-end SDLC from definition to launch. You’ll apply agile and waterfall methods, lead engineering and testing teams, and promote secure deployment practices. You will build cross-functional relationships, support junior colleagues, and help reshape the banking landscape through innovative technology.

Responsibilities

• Lead proposition definition and delivery of technology implementations in banking
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts and delivery teams to produce requirements and technical designs
• Assess market changes to improve client propositions and outcomes
• Manage the software development lifecycle from requirements to launch across stakeholders
• Establish project delivery guidelines and apply both waterfall and agile methodologies
• Lead engineering and test teams, conduct stand-ups, and track delivery using Jira
• Promote DevSecOps approaches, tooling and operating models for deployment
• Manage relationships with internal and client stakeholders and demonstrate people management
• Lead business development activities for key propositions (pre-sales, bids, client presentations)
• Mentor and guide junior colleagues and contribute to an inclusive culture
• Contribute to Deloitte’s Commercial Banking and Technology Delivery growth and collaboration across teams

Key requirements

• Experience in banking, FinTech, product business, or consulting delivering transformation for end clients
• Proven track record of leading technology implementations in banking and managing large teams
• End-user focused requirements definition and technical design in highly regulated environments
• Experience in working with business analysts and technical stakeholders to shape technical solutions
• Knowledge of banking products and processes (payments, lending, cash management, digital channels)
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence; strong MS Office skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Desirable: bids/tender experience and industry certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner, ITIL, TOGAF) and cloud certifications; programming knowledge (Java, Python, SQL)
• Familiarity with modular architecture and modern architectural thinking
