As Senior Hydrologist at AECOM, you will lead hydrological studies and support hydraulic modelling to assess flood risk across the UK. Responsibilities
Lead standalone hydrological studies and support 1D-2D hydraulic modelling to assess fluvial and surface water flooding
Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRAs), and drainage strategies with SuDS and environmental statements
Perform quality assurance of technical work within area of expertise
Mentor and develop graduate and junior team members
Manage client relationships, clarify expectations and success criteria to meet project requirements
Assist with preparation of bids and proposals for internal and external clients
Key requirements
Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or related discipline
Extensive practical experience in hydrological methods including FEH, ReFH2 and WINFAP for flow estimation
Extensive experience with GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, MapInfo)
Track record of delivering flood risk and water management projects with client and regulator liaison
Experience in Quality Assurance reviews of hydrological estimation and reporting
Experience in preparing tenders/proposals
Strong mentorship, teamwork, and commercial awareness
