In this role you support a fast-growing, PE-backed SME in Cheltenham with monthly MI, budgets, and due diligence for acquisitions. You’ll consolidate accounts, oversee transactional duties, and partner with the Financial Director on planning and system improvements. This hands-on position offers development into a senior finance role as the business scales, with hybrid working and benefits. You’ll work closely with management to drive accurate reporting and strategic decision making.

Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management information for senior management and the board
Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and assist with budgeting/rolling forecasts
Support due diligence for potential acquisitions and assist auditors with annual audits
Prepare quarterly VAT returns and various financial reports for decision making
Supervise accounts assistant and handle invoice processing, payroll, payments, and reconciliations as needed
Support the Financial Director with process improvements and system changes
Take on senior accounting tasks over time to aid career growth
Key requirements
Experience in a similar accounting role
Strong MS Excel skills
Knowledge of various financial systems
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
Proactive, hands-on, adaptable, and able to manage own workload and deadlines
ACCA/ACA/CIMA part-qualified/qualified or qualified by experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is advantageous
