Underwriter , Financial Institutions - SBS (SCOR Business Solutions)

Overview

In this FI Underwriter role you support underwriting and management of a portfolio of Financial Institutions risks, collaborating with senior underwriters, brokers, and stakeholders. You will develop technical underwriting skills while gaining a deep understanding of the FI market. The position offers autonomy within a visible underwriting capacity and focuses on profitable, risk-aware decision making. You contribute to portfolio performance and client relationships in a global reinsurer environment, applying the SCOR Way values to drive value for clients and the business.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business and renewals within delegated authority
• Review submissions, financial information, and supporting docs
• Attend and participate in client/broker meetings
• Prepare underwriting and pricing analyses for senior review
• Support portfolio monitoring and exposure management
• Build and maintain broker/trading partner relationships
• Attend/host broker meetings and industry events
• Support retention and identification of new opportunities
• Monitor profitability, rate adequacy, and portfolio performance
• Maintain underwriting records and systems
• Ensure compliance with guidelines, regulatory requirements, and controls
• Contribute to portfolio reviews and underwriting audits
• Collaborate with senior underwriters, claims, actuarial, legal, and operations teams
• Participate in underwriting discussions and referral processes
• Contribute to process improvements

Key requirements

• Demonstrated FI underwriting experience
• Several years in underwriting/assistant/broker roles relevant to FI, Financial Lines, PI, D&O, Cyber, Specialty Lines
• Understanding of underwriting principles and insurance products
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
