Overview

In this role you will lead the day-to-day operations of Hines' global Financial Crime Compliance programme, overseeing due diligence, screening, and onboarding. You will manage the Luxembourg fund investor AML/KYC activities and coordinate with internal and external partners to meet regulatory obligations while minimizing friction. You will coach a multinational team and drive scalable, technology-enabled processes for efficient risk-based operations. The position offers impact across investment lifecycle, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement within a renowned real estate investment organization.

Responsibilities

Oversee global due diligence and investor AML/KYC operations from onboarding to ongoing monitoring
Guide complex and high-risk cases, and supervise analysts and managers in the Global Centre of Excellence
Collaborate with Luxembourg AIFM RC, Investor Relations, and external Transfer Agent on KYC approvals and escalations
Manage investor communications to reduce duplicative requests and improve onboarding turnaround
Establish service standards and monitor onboarding timelines and KYC delays
Improve investor onboarding and ongoing KYC experience; provide management reporting
Oversee vendor due diligence for third parties with bribery and corruption risk
Develop scalable, risk-based operational processes and leverage technology to boost efficiency
Lead and develop team members, ensuring workload balance and delivery quality

Key requirements

Significant experience leading Financial Crime Compliance operations in investment management or transfer agency
In-depth knowledge of Luxembourg AML regulation and broader AML, sanctions, anti-bribery/anti-corruption requirements
Experience designing or managing AML/KYC operating models
Strong organizational and operational planning capabilities
Continuous-improvement mindset with ability to use technology, automation and data
Sound judgement balancing robust controls with investor experience
Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills
Strong people leadership and coaching skills
