Overview
You join Stantec’s Heritage team to provide expert historic environment consultancy across UK infrastructure projects. In this role you will support data searches, desk-based assessments, client liaison, and the development of mitigation strategies for schemes from small to nationally significant. You may take on project management duties and contribute to mapping and heritage screening within multidisciplinary teams. Your work shapes how major projects engage with the historic environment, aiming to understand, respect and preserve heritage for future generations. Responsibilities
- Data searches and desk-based assessments
- Client liaison and negotiation with LPA archaeological and heritage advisors
- Risk analysis and development of mitigation strategies
- Project management responsibilities (depending on experience)
- Mapping and heritage screening exercises
- Delivery of high-quality historic environment consultancy across diverse project types
Key requirements
- Degree in Archaeology or a heritage-related subject
- Corporate member of CIfA and/or IHBC or working towards membership within 12 months
- Solid knowledge of British archaeological resources across multiple periods
- Strong report writing and client relationship skills
- Understanding of UK legislative, consultancy and national planning policy framework
- Commitment to high standards of heritage consultancy and environmental care
