Overview

In this role you will shape end-to-end service experiences as part of Kainos’ Experience Design team. You will advocate for needs-based design, design thinking, and service design, guiding others and coaching staff while delivering measurable impact for millions. You’ll collaborate with researchers and cross-functional teams to map experiences and blueprint services, driving outcomes through workshops and strategic models. This is a people-focused, collaborative opportunity to advance digital services that matter.

Responsibilities

Define and communicate the end-to-end service experience
Influence the future direction of the service experience
Apply strategic models to design challenges
Form problem statements via business analysis
Provide guidance in needs-based design, design research, design thinking and service design
Coach and support junior team members
Collaborate with researchers to create experience maps and service blueprints
Lead and facilitate workshops using diverse techniques to drive outcomes
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Maintain strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management
Develop senior team members and wider community

Key requirements

Clear visibility of end-to-end service experiences
Ability to influence future service direction
Familiarity with strategic models and their application
Understanding of business analysis to shape problems
Expert guidance in needs-based design, design research, design thinking and service design
Experience coaching and developing junior team members
Comfort working with researchers to create experience maps and service blueprints
Knowledge of research/design methodologies
Workshop design, leadership, and facilitation skills
Effective communication across all levels of an organization
Strong commercial awareness
Stakeholder management and landscape mapping
Proven ability to develop senior team members
