W&I Underwriter // Spanish Speaker

Overview

In this role you will underwrite W&I policies for European buy-side and sell-side deals, reviewing documentation and structuring terms to manage risk. You will collaborate with brokers, sponsors, corporates and law firms across live transactions and participate in client calls, including in Spanish. You’ll assess legal and commercial risk, price coverage appropriately and negotiate terms in fast-paced environments. This is an opportunity to help grow a European W&I capability within a growing cross-border platform.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite W&I policies for buy-side and sell-side transactions across Europe
• Review transaction documentation and due diligence materials
• Assess legal and commercial risk and structure policy terms
• Price risk and negotiate coverage positions
• Engage with brokers and insureds during live deal processes
• Participate in client and advisor calls, including in Spanish
• Communicate findings to senior stakeholders
• Support expansion of European W&I capability

Key requirements

• Background in W&I underwriting, transactional risk, M&A insurance, or corporate/M&A law
• Strong interest in underwriting
• Solid understanding of M&A transactions and sale documentation
• Ability to assess risk pragmatically
• Clear communication with senior stakeholders
• Fluency in Spanish (essential) and full professional fluency in English
