Cost and Commercial Management - Hospital Construction

Overview

As part of the health programme delivery team, you will manage cost and estimating activities for hospital build and refurbishment projects across the UK. You’ll work with scheme leads, Trusts and advisers to maintain cost baselines, report performance, and support commercial decisions. Your role supports governance, cost assurance, and value delivery within a large, transformation-focused programme. This is an opportunity to shape healthcare infrastructure and work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management and estimating tasks across the programme
• Support cost assurance and data verification to maintain baseline integrity
• Deliver detailed cost analysis and reporting to inform commercial decisions
• Contribute to risk management and change control related to cost
• Engage with Trusts, cost consultants, and contractors to ensure robust cost reporting
• Align outputs with client policies, tools, and governance processes
• Support development and adoption of client tools and products for future performance
• Collaborate with scheme leads and regional teams to drive cost efficiency and reporting quality

Key requirements

• Technical qualification with proven track record on major projects
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Currently pursuing or holding a relevant professional qualification
• Experience in construction consultancy, healthcare/life sciences projects, or digital project management tools (advantageous)
