Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) - Manager

Overview

As M&A Lead Advisory Manager, you drive the delivery of high‑quality deal advisory for a range of clients, with a focus on privately‑owned mid‑market businesses (EV 5–50m). You will work with a national M&A team to research opportunities, build financial models, and coordinate transactions from pitches to closure. You’ll develop client relationships, shape strategic approach, and contribute to marketing and market presence. This role offers a path to lead broad engagements and impact the firm’s growth in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Research and prepare for new deal opportunities and pitches
• Prepare financial models and transaction documentation (business plans, marketing materials, financial forecasts)
• Identify and coordinate potential buyers for clients
• Project manage larger transactions and oversee smaller ones
• Support national M&A marketing activity and build personal market profile
• Build strong client relationships and address issues promptly
• Demonstrate strategic vision and focus on long‑term goals
• Maintain control under pressure and meet deadlines
• Present service features and benefits clearly to clients
• Ensure services are appropriate for the client
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Produce high‑quality work in line with firm policies and regulatory requirements

Key requirements

• ACA (or equivalent)
• At least two (2) years of Lead Advisory M&A experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to develop strong client relationships
• Financial modelling skills
• Desire to help grow and develop the department
• Ability to develop new initiatives and methodologies
• Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and commercial judgment
• Clear and authoritative communication across verbal and written channels
• Ability to develop self and others
• Strong research skills
