Analyst - Cost

Overview

As a Cost Analyst you will maintain and govern product cost data, loading direct and third-party cost information. You’ll collaborate with Senior Analysts, suppliers and category management during annual price increases to ensure timely file delivery and deadlines are met. You will resolve mailbox/ticket requests promptly and ensure data accuracy and completeness in cost files, while mentoring associates on daily tasks. This role supports cost analysis for commercial and corporate teams and drives governance improvements.

Responsibilities

• Load, maintain and ensure quality of supplier cost and published price files
• Manage the department mailbox and respond to inquiries
• Monitor data accuracy with third-party data sources
• Oversee standard cost governance and perform root-cause analysis
• Support Senior Analysts with cost analysis for commercial and corporate departments
• Ensure accuracy of supplier cost file maintenance (additions, deletions, changes)
• Assure purchase cost data accuracy and consistency for assigned systems
• Collaborate with Senior/Associate Analysts to improve processes and efficiency

Key requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• Data maintenance and loading processes
• Experience with WESCO Anixter or equivalent distribution
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to interact with management and peers
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment
• Additional programming skills (Visual Basic, Java)
• SharePoint and Microsoft Power BI experience
• Negotiation experience
