Director of Product, AML & Fraud Prevention

Overview

As the domain leader for AML & Fraud Prevention at Vinted Pay, you will craft the end-to-end product vision to protect members and the balance sheet from financial crime. You’ll align cross-functional peers to deliver regulated controls with scalable, automated solutions, balancing compliance with a smooth user experience. You will build and mentor a product team, own the roadmap for AML/CTF, KYC, sanctions, and fraud prevention, and anticipate regulatory changes. This role combines leadership, strategic product management, and deep domain expertise to mature our financial crime safeguards.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive a unified AML & Fraud Prevention domain vision with measurable OKRs
• Own and coordinate the product roadmap across AML/CTF, KYC, sanctions, PEP screening, and fraud monitoring
• Collaborate with MLRO, Compliance, Risk and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into product features
• Lead prioritization and alignment across multiple product teams and stakeholders
• Leverage data to size risk, identify opportunities, and time capabilities
• Decide build-vs-buy solutions for AML/fraud tooling and manage vendor relationships
• Prepare for regulatory changes and ensure rapid, compliant execution
• Build, mentor and scale a high-performing PM team (10+) and institute best-in-class practices
• Enable cross-functional collaboration through structured product development and governance

Key requirements

• 7+ years in product management, with substantial AML/financial crime/compliance/risk/fraud experience
• 4+ years of people management and team leadership, especially of Product Managers
• Deep AML domain knowledge: KYC, identity verification, sanctions/PEP screening, transaction monitoring, SAR/STR, regulatory frameworks
• Hands-on fraud prevention experience: detection models, rules engines, account takeover controls, chargebacks
• Track record of delivering major product launches (2+ projects, 6–9 months+ each)
• Experience in regulated environments with compliance collaboration and rapid execution
• Ability to deliver from 0 to 1 and build necessary tools
• Strong leadership, business acumen, analytics, and long-term planning
• Excellent written and spoken English communication
